Since 2004, Stoney’s Bread Company has stood as a cornerstone of Downtown Oakville — a neighbourhood kitchen shaped by the hands of the locals who run it, and cherished by the community it serves. Under new ownership since 2023, we’ve carried that legacy forward, honouring the Canadian roots and craftsmanship that built our reputation.
We’ve become synonymous with exceptional sandwiches — our slow roasted lamb , house smoked salmon and daily beef burger among them — alongside authentic Italian fare and beloved weekend brunch offerings, including our signature coastal mushroom omelette. Each dish is crafted in-house, with quality ingredients and meticulous attention to detail.

About us
Our Story
Friends and co-owners Steve Chabot and Blake Stoneburgh first opened the doors to Stoney’s Bread Company in 2004. The name of the restaurant was inspired by the football career of Blake’s Dad, Norm Stoneburgh. During his 13 seasons with the Toronto Argonauts he was famously known as ‘Stoney’.
A football legend and seasoned philanthropist, Stoney has always been passionate about giving back to the community and was happy to lend his name to the restaurant. In return, we wanted to make sure that his namesake embodied every positive quality that he represented – something we are continually working toward.

The service is always quick and professional. Your order is taken at the counter, and then you go sit down and they will.bring the food to you. You can also ask for take out. But it's just not the same as eating it fresh.
